Sandwiched in between two of the most popular stalls is a galore of Muslim food run by a friendly cik trio. The menu is filled with the usual pickings of prata, nasi biryani, mutton chop, and mee goreng. You can even drop Ismail, the owner of the stall, to preorder large orders for takeaway.
I ordered the Chicken Curry Biryani ($5) and Mee Goreng ($4). A heaping pile of long grained basmati rice comes with a leg of curried chicken, which was ladled from a huge pot of curry. The curry tasted much better than it looked, which was a deep red color that soaked into the chicken skin. The chicken flesh came off easily with just a gentle prod, and it even comes with a big chunk of potato. The papadum is kept in an airtight container, so it was still nice and crunchy.
The potato gravy coated the Mee Goreng noodles, with cabbage, egg and cucumbers. Some of the noodles are charred, giving it a sweet yet smoky taste. The next time I order this, I would probably ask to add chicken to add some meatiness to the dish.
